My students made up this game years back when I taught Kindergarten. They just LOVED it! Every day, they made up a word and would anxiously wait for me to say that word before they would move. Sometimes we would use silly phrases too. What a hit! Hopefully your students will love it as much as mine did.

Description

Here’s how to use this resource:

Print, laminate, and post your main sign
Use your “magic word” or “movement word” to signal students transition.
Change your word daily or weekly – it could be a student job too!
When you say the “magic/movement” word, kids begin their transition! They LOVE it!
Students could pick the word – make it a vocabulary word!

To make these words even more engaging, you could:

Draw the word: Have the student draw a picture of what comes to mind when they hear the word.
Act it out: Use gestures and facial expressions to convey the meaning of the word.
Create a silly sentence: Use the word in a funny sentence that helps to illustrate its meaning.
Make a mini-story: Create a short story using multiple silly words.
